Background
I'm Jeff Kirk Jr. — most people call me Jay. I spent 11+ years in investment operations at institutional firms including Man Group and State Street, building expertise in fund accounting, trade operations, and financial data management across hedge funds, mutual funds, and ETFs.
Over time I noticed that the most valuable work — pattern recognition, cross-portfolio analysis, operational intelligence — was being done manually by expensive people running spreadsheets. So I started building AI systems to do it better, faster, and continuously.
This site is where those systems live. Everything here is production-grade, running against real data on real infrastructure — not demos.
Career Timeline
- 2024 – Present Independent AI Engineer — Building production AI systems for trading intelligence, rental research, and business analysis. Self-taught full-stack development with Python, SQL, JavaScript, and machine learning.
- 2013 – 2024 Investment Operations at Man Group & State Street — Fund accounting, trade operations, reconciliation, and financial data management across hedge funds, mutual funds, and ETFs managing billions in AUM.
- 2022 – 2024 MBA — Boston University Questrom School of Business.
- 2010 – 2014 BS Operations Management — Bridgewater State University.
